Truth is, that’s not accurate.

Jayen Properties claims:

2024: “Coming soon! Hyatt House, Hyatt Place, Holiday Inn and Staybridge Suites in Richmond.”

In reality: The application for this hotel development at 3500 Cessna has not received any approvals from the City of Richmond as of November 18, 2024. While an application was submitted several years ago, the developer has not finalized details of the application.


Jayen Properties claims:

2025: “Coming soon! a 36-storey hotel and rental building near the future UBC Campus in Surrey.”

In reality: Jayen’s plans for a 36-storey tower at 9711 137 Street will need to be submitted to the city in order to receive approval. The previous owner of this site secured conditional approval for a 13-storey office building with ground floor retail. As of November 18, 2024, there is no public record of an application for a 36-storey tower at this location.

Jayen Properties claims:

2026: “Coming soon! A 46-storey condo in the heart of Vancouver.”

In reality: In its promotional materials, Jayen Properties has indicated an interest in redeveloping the site of the current Cobalt Hotel, a SRO hotel that provides low-income housing in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, and the property next door to make way for a new condo tower. Jayen has not received approvals for such a project, nor does an application appear on the city’s list of pending rezoning or development permit applications as of November 18, 2024.
